    Help locating an ancestor

Do you have dates for birth or marriage?

If I were searching for this relative I would look at the following links.

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https%3A%2F%2Ffamil…

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https%3A%2F%2Ffamil…

    And because it is close:

    https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/index#uri=https%3A%2F%2Ffamil…

There is also a book titled "Genealogía de Nochistlán antiguo reino de la Nueva Galicia en el siglo XVII según sus archivos parroquiales" by José Luis Vázquez y Rodríguez de Frías (2001). It has a ton of surnames for Nochistlan. Might try your local library to see if it is available.

    Locating an ancestor

    Juanita,

Thank you for this very helpful input of yours. After 2 intense hours of looking through these documents I did not find anything on the ancestor i'm searching for.Is there another way I can look at these documents rather than just flipping page after page.

    Locating an ancestor

    Abram,

It is a tedious job and I only wish there was an easier way to go through the pages, but unfortunately I don't know of any. On the other hand if you know the year that you believe your ancestor might have lived in the area you can guess estimate a place within the file for the year. For instance, let's say there 600 images for the years 1881-1889 entering 150 at the image number box would advance you a 150 images.

    Good luck,

    Juanita
