Dear Ranchos Group--

I have two comments in regard to this listing by Daniel.

1. My husband and I had the opportunity a few years ago to visit Yahualica, Jalisco. It is a most beautiful place and unlike any other part in Mexico. If this is where your families lines go, try to plan a trip to see the land. It is absolutely incredible. At the time of our visit, we only had a camera for pictures. However the grandeur and scope of the place can only be appreciated first hand or as a poor second choice, through the offerings of a video camera. Additionally, this place was seen by Pope John Paul II and there is a statue near the church to commemorate his visit.

2. It is a fact of life that mistakes can be made in reading old documents. One of the things that bothered me, way back, was finding the marriage for one of our Godinez ancestors to a De La Torre ancestor, listed as 1892 when it should have been 1882. On the other side of the coin, the couple married in a place I never would have recognized and because there was a film number, I could look at a copy of the document and correct it. Personally, I would rather have many names to look at and possibly find the correct one than to have little to no information to review.

Bottom line...isn't Family History the greatest way to pass the time of day? Every new find leads to another and another and when we can't get it quite right, we can still make guesses. All in all, our understanding grows (along with our list of cousins and new friends) as we seek to know who we are and where we came from.
