Rosario Enriquez

    Dear Rosa:
I could not come up with anything either for Rosario and Trinidad's marriage. We might estimate that they were married when Trinidad was 15 or sixteen years of age. This may or may not be true, but it was common for girls to marry around that age. That would put the marriage around 1909. If you know they were of the Catholic faith and hopefully they were married in Jalostotitlan, then your best bet is to find your nearest LDS history center and order the Catholic marriages film 1905-1913 # 279310 Jalos. Review the film and if it is not there try 1913-1924 279311. There are also civil marriage records, but they appear to be one month of one year each, so it would take more $$$$ and more time. Also, since the marriage was in the early 1900's I have noticed that many of the early 1900 films have not been batched yet, so it would be near to impossible to find a marriage reference online for them. Mind you this is a long shot, but it may be your best bet. I have done some of my research in this manner and sometimes I am overwhelmingly lucky and other times very disappointed.
If you need help in finding more film numbers. Go to the familysearch site main page, click on "library" link at the top of that page and then "library catalog", choose "placename" search and put in Jalostotitlan part of Mexico. Click on the links for civil or church records and then "view film notes" button on the top right. It will give you all the films that might be ordered from Jalos.

    Good luck

Rosario Enriquez and LDS records search Jalostotilan

    Dear Rosa:
Already so many people on this site have helped me and I am so grateful for all of them. It is a way of passing along the love and information.

From what I have been following and in my own searching, I have found almost all of us are likely related in some way!! I have Iniquez (said to be a variation of Enriquez) and Gonzales in my lines. Also some of the people I am researching are from Jalos., so no doubt we will probably need each other's help again in the future. My Gonzales appear to be from Tepatitlan, but if you run across an Antonio Gonzales married to Juliana De La Torre from the early 1800's from Tepa or from Jalos. Lugardo Jaurequi and Felipa Iniquez in the early 1800's let me know.

Please let us know when your films come in whether you have any success. It gives everyone a boost and a renewed confidence in finding their own elusive relatives.

PS: if you find the Catholic record then it might be a good idea to order the civil film for that date also, then check to see if there is an information marriage done. Informational marriage documents sometimes have family genealogies.
